To enhance the international visibility of Taiwan’s higher education, the Ministry of Education has commissioned the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET) to operate the Study in Taiwan platform. This year, Study in Taiwan continued to enhance its global branding efforts by organizing the “2025 Study in Taiwan: My Campus Diary Short Film Contest.” The competition attracted 48 international students from 20 countries, who submitted short videos sharing their study experiences, daily life, and cultural encounters in Taiwan. A total of 17 works advanced to the final round, and the top five winners have now been announced.

This contest highlights Taiwan's friendly and diverse learning environment through the first-person perspectives of international students. The films cover themes such as campus life, Mandarin learning, cultural participation, internships in Taiwan, and city exploration. The winning videos will be published on Study in Taiwan’s social media platforms as promotional materials to help more international students understand what studying and living in Taiwan truly looks like.

Study in Taiwan: The Primary Gateway for International Students to Learn About Taiwan

The Study in Taiwan website is a key Ministry of Education platform for promoting overseas recruitment. It provides comprehensive information on Taiwan’s advantages, key numbers, international student stories, degree programs, scholarships, living in Taiwan, as well as the latest news and publications. With annual pageviews surpassing one million, it has become the major reference website for global students seeking study opportunities in Taiwan.

To further strengthen international student narratives, the platform features the “Meet the Students” section, which presents international students’ motivations, learning journeys, and reflections on studying in Taiwan. These stories help overseas youth better understand Taiwan through the real experiences of students currently studying here.

FICHET also continues to expand its international student ambassador network on social media, inviting influential international students to share short videos that highlight Taiwan’s unique learning environment, thereby enhancing Taiwan’s global higher education visibility.

The third-place winner, H. S. Firdausi from Indonesia, shared that one of the key reasons she chose Chang Gung University was the scholarships offered by both the Ministry of Education and the university. Coming from a low-income family, she emphasized that this financial support has been essential for her to pursue graduate studies abroad.

FICHET stated that it will continue to place authentic international student experiences at the heart of its promotional efforts, aiming to boost Taiwan’s visibility in the global higher education market and attract more international talent to study and grow in Taiwan.
