I would recommend Taiwan as a study destination, especially for those in the field of engineering. Here, you are in the midst of a high-tech environment, yet the society is incredibly friendly and open, making you feel right at home.
I chose to study in Taiwan because it's a leading country in semiconductors. I want to learn about the semiconductor industry, which I believe is one of the most important industries for the future of humanity. As we know, Taiwan leads in this industry, accounting for 60% of semiconductor production worldwide.
I chose the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at National Taipei University of Technology because of its high global ranking. I am studying Industrial Engineering and Management. After completing my bachelor's degree in my home country, I enrolled directly at NTUT due to its esteemed position within the top 100 universities of Asia by QS ranking. It is also equipped with high-tech laboratories that enhance student learning. Here, I can learn about the latest developments in industrial technology and gain expertise in my field.

When I arrived in Taiwan, I didn't speak Mandarin at all. However, the people here are incredibly welcoming to foreigners. I learned Mandarin from my friends in the lab and in class. Fortunately, all my friends were willing to teach me.
Studying in Taiwan is challenging. My most significant challenge while studying in Taiwan has been homesickness, given the vast distance from my family. However, I've made very friendly acquaintances here. When I feel homesick, I engage in sports activities with friends to divert my mind. Badminton is my favorite sport, and we often play together to alleviate the pressures and stresses of studying.
Apart from studying, I enjoy visiting various night markets in Taipei since I relish Taiwanese cuisine. Moreover, I admire the nighttime scenery in Taipei, where the view is adorned with beautiful lights from the towering buildings of this metropolitan city.
After graduation, I hope to become a researcher in Taiwan and foster research collaborations between Taiwan and my home country, particularly in the semiconductor industry. I aspire to be a bridge that facilitates knowledge exchange between the two nations.
