The warmth and hospitality of the Taiwanese people stand out in my experience. I've yet to encounter someone unwilling to help a foreigner in need.
Taiwan is an ideal destination for anyone interested in Chinese language and culture. It's perfect for those who have already studied Chinese and want to practice, as well as for beginners eager to start their language journey. I’m personally here studying in a Teaching Chinese as a Second Language graduate program.
The warmth and hospitality of the Taiwanese people stand out in my experience. I've yet to encounter someone unwilling to help a foreigner in need. This welcoming atmosphere, combined with excellent opportunities for both study and travel, makes Taiwan a must-visit destination for everyone.
As an enthusiastic traveler, I've made it my mission to explore every corner of Taiwan during my free time. Despite its relatively small size, the island has surprised me with its abundance of tourist attractions. I take great pride in having visited all parts of the island—north, south, east, and west. And Jiufen is my next and last spot to visit before moving out to explore the nearby islands.
Taiwan's rich cultural tapestry has offered me numerous opportunities for unique experiences. A highlight was celebrating the Lunar New Year in the traditional way, thanks to an invitation from a Taiwanese classmate. I enjoyed the New Year's Eve dinner, visited local temples, and participated in various customs.
Beyond this, I've explored many Taiwanese temples independently, marveling at their stunning architecture. The local cuisine has also been a delightful adventure. I've sampled a wide array of traditional foods, with koah-pau (buns with filling) and tea eggs (especially those from Sun Moon Lake) emerging as my favorites.
My time in Taiwan has been enriched by participation in various projects and events. One of my most valuable experiences was volunteering as an Observer at MUN (Model United Nations) Taichung. This opportunity aligned perfectly with my interests and provided invaluable insights.
I'm also an active member of the local Ukrainian community. Together, we organize various fundraisers and events to support Ukraine. These activities have not only allowed me to maintain a connection with my home country but also to contribute meaningfully to a cause close to my heart.
Looking ahead to post-graduation, I'm open to the possibility of staying in Taiwan for work. The country has a very comfortable lifestyle. The ease of renting apartments and the convenience of dining out eliminate many daily worries. Moreover, Taiwan's excellent healthcare system adds to its appeal as a potential long-term home.
