The UK-based higher education survey organization QS recently released the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025. Taiwan Tech has 14 subjects listed, with 10 of them ranking in the national top five. Taiwan Tech has subjects ranked in all five major fields, showcasing the university's steady development and international visibility since its transformation from an industrial technology institute to an applied research university.

QS subject rankings cover 55 disciplines and are evaluated based on academic reputation, employer reputation, paper citations, H-index, and international research networks, making it one of the most influential global university rankings. In this year’s rankings, Taiwan Tech performed exceptionally well in subjects such as Art and Design, Education and Training, Architecture and Built Environment, and Civil and Structural Engineering, all ranking in the national top three, highlighting the university’s long-term commitment to diverse fields and its internationally recognized teaching and research achievements.

Taiwan Tech is also ranked in the national top five in subjects such as Computer Science and Information Systems, Materials Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, and Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. Additionally, in core STEM fields like Business and Management, Computer Science and Information Systems, Materials Science, Chemistry, and Civil and Structural Engineering, Taiwan Tech’s papers ranked in the national top three for citation counts, showcasing the university's academic competitiveness and research impact in the STEM fields.

Taiwan Tech has demonstrated strong performance across multiple disciplines, with Chemical Engineering, Power Electronics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering ranking globally between 201-250. Subjects like Computer Science and Information Systems, Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy, Business and Management, and Biological Sciences continue to be featured, reflecting Taiwan Tech’s advancements not only in applied research but also in academic theory.
