I decided to study in Taiwan due to its advanced agricultural technology and the availability of various scholarships for international students at NCHU. Taiwan’s reputation for safety, cleanliness, and convenient transportation also played a significant role in my choice. Additionally, the NCHU campus embodies these characteristics, with its friendly environment, extensive forest, and strong community links.

Academic Focus and Campus Life at NCHU

My selection of NCHU was influenced by its popularity in agricultural fields, especially the Horticulture program, which focuses on plant cultivation, breeding, and processing. The diverse facilities at NCHU, such as greenhouses, laboratories, and gardens, have significantly enhanced my educational experience. The university’s location in the center of Taichung City, with its accessible public transport and additional amenities like the gym and shared-bike stations, further adds to the appeal.

Extracurricular Activities and Utilizing Campus Facilities

I am actively involved in extracurricular activities at NCHU, including being a member of the badminton team. The sports facilities, particularly the gymnasium, support my engagement in these activities. Additionally, my enjoyment of diverse foods is fulfilled by places like Yule Street on campus, known for its wide range of regional and cultural cuisines.

Language Learning and Personal Development

Learning Mandarin at the NCHU Chinese Language Center has been an integral part of my stay in Taiwan. The practical nature of the courses has improved my communication skills, while the supportive and lively class environment facilitated by patient teachers has greatly assisted in my language development. Moreover, managing my time between studies, part-time jobs, and school activities has been a valuable learning experience.

Broadening Horizons Through International Exposure

My experience in Taiwan has been enriched by meeting people from various countries and cultures, which has broadened my perspective and improved my communication abilities. This exposure is crucial for achieving my career goals, like becoming more confident in public speaking and negotiation.
