The university’s dedication to offering advanced education in finance, along with free Mandarin courses for international students like me, made it an especially appealing choice.
Decision to Study in Taiwan and University Experience
The opportunity for research and scholarship was a key factor in my decision to study in Taiwan. I chose National Taipei University for its full scholarship offer and specialized program in Global Master of Business Administration (GMBA) with a focus on finance. The university’s commitment to providing advanced education in finance and free Mandarin classes for foreign students like myself made it an attractive choice. My time in Taiwan has been enriched by the opportunity to publish high-quality international research and journals with my supervisors.
Life in Taiwan and Academic Challenges
Taiwan, with its wonderful environment and places like the East Coast, has been an enjoyable setting for my studies. One of the biggest challenges I faced was the language barrier, which I addressed by intensively learning Mandarin for about two months during the summer break, improving my skills from zero to an A2 level.
Social Life and Career Prospects
Outside of academics, I enjoy visiting Taipei, particularly the Ximen and Da’an areas, for shopping and exploration. To my family and friends back home, I describe Taiwan as the best choice for study, work, or vacation. The internship opportunities provided by Taiwanese companies to international students are valuable for gaining international work experience, enhancing our CVs, and benefiting our future careers.
Future Plans and Comparative Analysis
My plan is to stay in Taiwan for two years after graduation before returning to my home country. I am hopeful for a good full-time career opportunity in Taiwan that would allow me to stay longer. The study environment in Taiwan, including facilities like research resources, literature, class equipment, comfortable dormitories, and libraries, is far superior to what I experienced in my home country, contributing significantly to my academic success and overall experience.
