I chose to study in Taiwan because of its reputation as the “Heart of Asia,” renowned for its safety, welcoming people, and clean, well-preserved environment.
Choosing Taiwan for Its World-Class Education
My decision to study in Taiwan was influenced by its reputation as the “Heart of Asia,” known for its safety, friendly people, and excellent environmental quality. The high ranking of its universities and well-equipped laboratories, combined with full funding, made Taiwan the ideal choice for me.
NCHU: A Leading Research University & My Favorite Place
I chose NCHU, a top-tier research university in Taiwan and also well-known globally. It’s located in central Taichung and is part of the National University System of Taiwan. My major in biomedical sciences focuses on cancer research, and NCHU’s reputation in this field is highly recognized. Collaborating with diverse classmates and engaging in research have been the most enjoyable aspects of my studies.
My university is also my favorite place in Taiwan. My most treasured spot on campus is the lake, where you can see a lot of animals like birds, ducks, fish, and turtles. I also like to go fishing on a riverbank just next to my university on weekends. To my family and friends, I describe my experience at NCHU as transformative. The university has brought happiness and color into my life, making my time in Taiwan truly special.
Initially, language and food were challenges. However, with help from my lab mates and living in the school dorm, I quickly adapted to the Taiwanese lifestyle.
In my free time, I enjoy fishing, cooking and eating with friends, hiking, going to the beach, and visiting places with traditional arts. These activities enrich my life outside of academia.
Achievements in Conferences and Research
My greatest learning achievement in Taiwan is participating in numerous conferences, both locally and internationally. Winning poster presentation awards and gaining insights from experts in my field have been significant highlights.
Future Plans
Studying in Taiwan, especially at NCHU, will undoubtedly benefit my future career. In addition, the university’s growth and global competitiveness assure me of its positive impact on my professional development.
My future is intertwined with Taiwan. After graduation, I plan to stay because of the unique culture, healthy lifestyle, secure society, and excellent job prospects. Taiwan has left an indelible mark on my heart.
Comparing Educational Systems
Taiwan’s educational quality, facilities, and research environment far exceed those in my home country. The advanced research equipment and the focus on quality education make Taiwan an exceptional place for academic pursuits. Taiwan is particularly beneficial for hard-working students, especially those in science, agriculture, engineering, and technology. The educational system here is designed to support and elevate students in these fields.
