Attracted by Taiwan’s Natural and Cultural Beauty

My decision to study in Taiwan was influenced by its beautiful nature, rich culture, and amazing people. So, I would describe Taiwan as a never-ending adventure, full of discoveries and experiences. These factors made Taiwan an irresistible destination for my academic pursuits.

Choosing NCKU for a Global Perspective

I chose NCKU, one of the top five universities in Taiwan, for its international environment. My doctoral program focuses on social media and its impact on cultural values. The most enjoyable aspect of my studies is collaborating with classmates from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering a rich learning experience.

My doctoral research extends from my master’s thesis, which I consider to be one of my greatest academic accomplishment in Taiwan. The thesis is about social media in the B2B realm, a collaborative project between a Taiwanese university and a German company.

On the other hand, improving my Mandarin language skills to communicate effectively in daily life was my biggest challenge. Fortunately, the excellent Mandarin courses offered by Taiwanese universities greatly aided me in overcoming this hurdle.

Adventure and Exploration with Friends

Beyond academics, my time in Taiwan is spent embarking on travel adventures, exploring the country’s stunning natural landscapes, oceans, and mountains with friends. Of the places I have been to in Taiwan, Kending holds a special place in my heart as my favorite location in Taiwan, embodying the unique characteristics of Taiwan in one place.

When speaking with family and friends back home, I express my deep love for Taiwan, emphasizing how it has made me a happier and better person.

Enhancing Future Career Prospects

The exceptional teaching environment and quality in Taiwan make a degree from a Taiwanese university extremely valuable. This educational experience is poised to contribute significantly to both my personal and professional success. To that end, I would say those who are eager to explore new experiences and live life to the fullest will find studying in Taiwan particularly rewarding.

My future aspiration is to become a professor at a Taiwanese university. I intend to stay in Taiwan for several more years, as living here has been a dream come true for me.

Educational Comparison with Germany

In terms of teaching quality, environment, school equipment, and facilities, Taiwanese universities are on par with, and sometimes even surpass, what is offered in Germany.
