I was attracted to studying in Taiwan because of its outstanding education system, which combines academic excellence with rich cultural exploration—creating an ideal environment for both learning and personal growth.
Choosing Taiwan for Education and Adventure
I was drawn to study in Taiwan because of the high-quality education it offers, which aligns with my interests and desire to expand my knowledge. Being an adventurous person, I wanted to challenge my capabilities, learn about different cultures, and meet new people. Taiwan’s education system seemed to offer the perfect blend of academic rigor and cultural exploration.
Taiwan’s Beauty and Lifestyle
Describing Taiwan in a single sentence, I would emphasize its beautiful scenery and nature, which instill a sense of relaxation. The friendliness of Taiwanese people further enhances the country’s appeal. Parks in Taiwan hold a special place in my heart; they remind me of childhood, offering a sense of carefreeness. I enjoy seeing children play, families have picnics, and especially the cute dogs walking around. Parks are my go-to places to unwind and enjoy the cool breeze.
Academic Choice: Ming Chuan University and Fashion Innovation
I chose Ming Chuan University for its program in Fashion Innovation & Management, which perfectly matches my interests. The program is unique, being tri-lingual in English, French, and Mandarin, and it covers a comprehensive range of subjects like aesthetics, management, and branding. It combines theoretical business studies with practical insights from the fashion industry. I particularly enjoy the field trips and my fashion illustration class, which allow me to explore and develop my capabilities.
Outside of academics, my friends and I enjoy exploring Taiwan’s diverse culinary scene and visiting cafes, thrift shops in Tienmu, parks, museums, and libraries. These activities help us broaden our knowledge while having fun.
Learning Achievements and Overcoming Challenges
My greatest learning achievement in Taiwan is learning to adjust to diverse personalities. This experience has made me more understanding, patient, and mature in handling various situations. The biggest challenge was the language barrier, as I initially struggled with Mandarin. I’ve been overcoming this challenge by learning Mandarin through self-study, asking local friends for help, and using online resources. While my Mandarin is not perfect, I can now understand basic words and form simple sentences.
Sharing Taiwan with Family and Friends
When I talk to my family and friends about Taiwan, I emphasize its convenience, the ease of travel and exploration due to excellent transportation, and the plethora of free tourist spots. I always recommend the night markets for their fun atmosphere and local foods. The kindness of Taiwanese people towards foreigners is also a highlight of my experience here. Overall, I would really commend that they should visit Taiwan or apply for scholarship because it is really worth it and a fun experience. I think all kinds of people, especially international students, would really benefit from studying in Taiwan because Taiwan offers a lot of scholarships that can help you fulfill your dreams in studying abroad.
Future Career Prospects and Plans
Studying in Taiwan, with its progressive nature and high-quality education, offers numerous opportunities for my future career. Improving my Mandarin and applying the practical experiences and knowledge gained in Taiwan will be advantageous in my future endeavors. Also, it is a big plus to my resume that I have studied in Taiwan. If given the opportunity, I would like to stay in Taiwan due to its well-organized systems, convenient transportation, good benefits, and competitive salaries.
Comparing Educational Experiences
Comparing my educational experiences, I’ve noticed significant differences in terms of school equipment and organizational efficiency. In Taiwan, schools are well-equipped, especially in classes like P.E., and administrative processes are convenient and fast. This contrasts with my home country, where resources are sometimes limited and processes can be slow.
