Taiwan provides a welcoming academic and social atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for international students to achieve their educational aspirations.
Decision to Study in Taiwan
My journey to Taiwan began in 2020 when I visited with a friend. I was captivated by the country’s beauty, natural landscapes, and the kindness of its people. After returning to Thailand, I researched master’s programs and received recommendations for Taiwanese universities. A visit to Longshan Temple during my first trip, where I made a wish to return to Taiwan for studies, also played a role in my decision.
Academic Program and Experience
I am enrolled in the International Master’s Program of Information Technology and Applications. This is my first time at NPTU, and upon arrival, I was impressed by the spaciousness, greenery, and relaxing environment of the campus. The presence of sports fields and natural beauty enhanced my initial experience here. The program covers vital topics such as artificial intelligence, Big Data, IoT, and AR-VR. I particularly enjoy the Big Data course, where I learn about current industry needs and how to use data for business benefit. The course is practical, focusing on real-world applications and preparing students for the current job market.
Educational Comparison: Taiwan vs. Thailand
Studying for a master’s degree requires diligence and responsibility. Taiwan’s IT sector is advanced and offers up-to-date technology and educational methods. Living in Pingtung is comfortable, with convenient access to restaurants, convenience stores, and city amenities. The university environment is conducive to learning, providing a blend of academic rigor and a supportive community.
Challenges and Overcoming Them
Previously, I studied abroad in Singapore for a short period. The main challenge in Taiwan was learning Mandarin for daily communication. I took online classes with a Thai teacher and gradually improved my language skills. Within six months, I was able to communicate effectively in Mandarin, which I consider a significant achievement.
Future Plans and Career Aspirations
After graduation, I aim to gain work experience in Taiwan. Having previously worked in a multicultural environment, I am confident in my ability to adapt and work with people from diverse backgrounds. I believe working in Taiwan will provide valuable new experiences and enhance my career prospects.
Benefits of Studying in Taiwan for Future Career
Choosing Taiwan for my master’s degree was motivated by its renowned technological advancements. Taiwan’s global recognition in technology will significantly benefit my future career, offering opportunities for growth and development in a technologically advanced environment.
Key Achievements and Learnings
The most important achievement of studying in Taiwan has been the acquisition of new experiences, including learning a third language. The opportunity to meet new friends, teachers, and people from different backgrounds has been invaluable. Learning to communicate in Chinese is an accomplishment I cherish.
