Vietnam
Introduction: Meet Nguyen Tuan Duong, Aspiring Businessman
Currently, I am pursuing a master’s degree at Ming Chi University of Technology. I am always eager to explore new things and have a passion for traveling and photography, which helps me capture meaningful memories. Family is very important to me, and they are my top priority. My dream is to become a successful businessman, contributing to both Vietnam and Taiwan’s economies. I am determined to make this dream a reality.
Choosing Taiwan for Higher Education
Taiwan, known for its economic miracles and prosperity, has always fascinated me. Over the past four decades, it has shown remarkable economic growth and has become a high-tech industrialized economy with globally recognized companies. The key role of international trade in Taiwan’s economic expansion, along with its rich culture, traditions, and hard-working people, deeply impressed me from a young age. I am captivated by Taiwan’s development in the high-tech industry, its interesting movies, music, and breathtaking tourist attractions. I believe that experiencing life and education in Taiwan will allow me to explore my potential and gain a deeper understanding of the world. Education here, especially in graduate school, offers the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research and learn from world-class experts.
I am enrolled in the IMBA Masters program at Ming Chi University of Technology, where my passion for economic knowledge and business strategy has thrived. I have been pursuing this interest for over four years, which led me to continue my education in business administration in Taiwan. I find the subjects like Formosa Case Study and corporate finance intriguing, but marketing has been my favorite. It has broadened my perspective on effective brand promotion and modern digital marketing strategies. The highlight of my educational experience is studying alongside Taiwanese friends, who have greatly supported me and shared their stories, enriching my understanding of Taiwanese culture and deepening my affection for the country.
One of my most significant achievements in Taiwan is becoming an ambassador for Vietnamese students at Ming Chi University of Technology. Organizing a Vietnam-Taiwan cultural festival was a memorable experience, deepening my understanding of both cultures and helping to build a diplomatic bridge between the two countries. Representing MCUT has enriched my knowledge and personal growth, and I aim to promote Vietnamese culture in Taiwan, thereby contributing to the diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Studying in Taiwan has been a remarkable experience, offering a conducive learning environment. The professors provide dedicated support, and the interactive teaching style emphasizes personal opinions and class discussions, enhancing my understanding of various topics. Additionally, the refreshing environment, with opportunities for outdoor activities like mountain climbing, helps alleviate stress. Taiwanese universities are equipped with modern facilities, enabling students to connect with global intellectual communities.
Overcoming Application Challenges in Taiwan
The primary challenge I faced while applying to study in Taiwan was handling the university application fee. I encountered a payment error on the university’s website, leading to a stressful situation. However, the university’s supportive response, including detailed guidance on resolving the issue, left a lasting impression on me. This experience taught me the importance of remaining calm and having faith in others, as help often comes when least expected.
Post-Graduation Plans: Aspiring for Business Success
Studying in Taiwan offers numerous advantages for my future career. Firstly, Taiwan’s top-tier educational environment promises excellent job opportunities. Secondly, the diverse cultural interactions will enhance my decision-making skills in my career. Lastly, learning Mandarin, a widely used language, opens up opportunities in various parts of the world like Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, where Mandarin is prevalent in the workplace.
After completing my studies, I plan to work in Taiwan for 1-2 years before returning to Vietnam to establish my own business. I am inspired by the belief that accomplishments, not just efforts, define success. Taiwan offers an excellent platform for personal and professional growth. I am committed to contributing to the economic and diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Taiwan. I firmly believe that there are no unrealistic goals, only unrealistic timelines. By collaborating with the best, I am confident in achieving my aspirations.
