I really encourage international students to look into studying in Taiwan. The education system here is uplifting, and it can seriously level up your future career.
Introduction: My Journey from Jammu & Kashmir to Taiwan
I am from Jammu & Kashmir, India, a region celebrated for its natural beauty and often referred to as Paradise on Earth. Currently, I am pursuing my master’s degree in advanced manufacturing at the AIM-HI department of National Chung Cheng University, Chiayi. As a Muslim, I enjoy making new friends and am delighted to live alongside kind, welcoming, and cheerful Taiwanese friends. I am highly motivated by cutting-edge technologies and eager to learn more about them. My interests include playing sports such as volleyball, football, cricket, badminton, and table tennis.
Decision to Study in Taiwan and the Application Experience
I feel fortunate to have been admitted to the AIM-HI (Advanced Institute of Manufacturing with High-Tech Innovation) Department of National Chung Cheng University. My decision to study in Taiwan was largely influenced by AIM-HI. The department’s name itself signifies the depth of exploration and learning it offers in my field of interest. The faculty, infrastructure, and state-of-art labs provide all the necessary facilities to elevate my career to the next level. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to study in Taiwan, a country known not only for its educational opportunities but also for its friendly environment, rich culture, and the kind, loving, trustworthy, helpful, hospitable, and humanitarian nature of its people, which made my decision to study here an easy one.
The application process at my university was straightforward and student-friendly. I encountered a minor challenge during the final phase of the application when I was unable to upload important documents due to a server issue. However, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) was commendable in their response; they resolved the issue promptly upon notification. Their cooperation, especially when I feared missing the deadline, was invaluable. The OIA also provided continuous guidance and assistance with all the necessary documents for the application.
Educational Experience at AIM-HI
As a student in the AIM-HI department, I am engaged in the Machining and Automation Lab. My advisor is currently focusing on virtual reality collaboration in machine tools. Our goal is to integrate virtual reality technology into machining and manufacturing, thereby enhancing Industry 4.0. The coursework and lab sessions have introduced me to subjects like computer-aided design, computer numerical control, integrated technology, and software such as CUT PRO, Solidworks, and C# on Visual Studio. I particularly enjoyed learning CAD and understanding the logic behind geometries. The Taiwanese education system’s flexibility in course selection based on student interest is something I appreciate greatly.
My studies in Taiwan have significantly broadened my knowledge. Working with some of the best professors, who are always helpful and encouraging, has been a rewarding experience. Learning new programming languages like C# has added to my skill set. The practical and industry-oriented approach of my institute has been beneficial, especially during visits to companies in the industrial zone near my university, where I gained in-depth knowledge of how our studies apply in real-world scenarios.
The educational experience in Taiwan differs greatly from that in my home country. The teaching standards, experienced professors, and the student-oriented course selection process are particularly impressive. The study environment is friendly and collaborative, and the high-tech labs and advanced classrooms at AIM-HI are among the best I have encountered. Overall, the facilities and comprehensive approach to education in Taiwan are superior to what I experienced in my country.
Advantages of Studying in Taiwan and My Future Plans
Studying at CCU and AIM-HI in Taiwan is opening numerous doors for my future career. The practical, industry-oriented knowledge I am gaining at AIM-HI is instrumental in securing a promising job in my field. Additionally, studying at a prestigious institute in Taiwan facilitates admission to elite universities worldwide, many of which have MOUs with my university. This educational journey in Taiwan is not only enhancing my career prospects but also my opportunities for higher studies abroad.
Upon completing my master’s degree at AIM-HI, I plan to work in Taiwan’s manufacturing industry. My institute’s collaboration with leading industries in Taiwan, which are at the forefront of adopting cutting-edge technologies, will enhance my real-world experience in the field. AIM-HI’s mission to assist Taiwanese manufacturing industries in adopting innovative ideas aligns with my desire to apply my knowledge and contribute to the technological advancement of Taiwan. I am eager to learn from Taiwan’s manufacturing sector, renowned for its leadership in automation and cutting-edge technologies.
